Sycamore Run Appaloosas

We are a family run horse farm located centrally in Delaware, Ohio on 30 acres of what was once a 110 acre farm. Our parcel includes the original double course brick home built in 1889, three post and pegged beam barns, and two large pole barns. A creek separates the homestead from the pastures and drains into the Scioto River, which is one of our boundaries. Both the creek and river are lined by tall, majestic, mottled-barked Sycamore trees. As we pondered these grand old trees, we realized that in many ways they represented the kind of horse we were looking to add to our farm. These trees, many of which are over a 100 years old, show true strength and longevity. Their mighty trunks spread so large that it takes several people to surround them as they stand true and strong. As you look up into their branches, you see the ever changing directions they take as time marches on, all adding to the splendor displayed on these limbs and showing as well the mirror image of their roots deep and true. Of course all of this is topped off with a wildly colored mottled bark! We want to add horses to the Appaloosa breed that show true strength and longevity through their life long contributions to the breed and to the families that take them into their hearts. Their deep rooted bloodlines add to their longevity, and the addition of modern bloodlines allow for them to grow and change with the modern world. All of this topped off of course with all that wonderful Appaloosa COLOR!
